Does anyone else want to track tagged animals?  No?  Why not?  Say you are a good old fashioned animal lover and you want to take some pics.  Well, how easy would it be to track one of them dang critters down with your iPhone?

Pretty easy!  All we have to do is get some scientists together and to share there info.  Or how about when you get lost in the woods?  What would you do to have a “radar” like Halo3?  Yeah, you are the green button, the red buttons are the animals you should avoid so they don’t kill you!

Of course, this won’t help you with the ninja of the forest…Bigfoot!

Merlin Mann and the gang began with basic intorductions then asked a few questions about attendence.  The Chicago conference caused a small stir by showing off a shirt that was pretty harsh on the non-disclosure agreement.  F_CK_NG NDA was spelled out on a crossword diagram.

The San Fran group then led out there sponsors, each talking the big talk.  There was also a lot of talk battery recharging.

The rest of te keynote focused on needs of the developer and trying to accomadate those needs.

The keynote was turned off shortly after starting in Chicago.

Hour1: Awesomely small! We’re in a building right next to the Sear Tower! I’ve missed Chicago I guess. Ok. enough of the mooshy stuff.

We have a great breakfast of coffee, bagels and shmeer to feed our growing brains. We’re just settling in now.

Hour2: Dave Dribin on the Development Tools

- Great demo of basic coding using development tools by Dave Dribin. We went over the basic syntax and what tools to use. He developed a basic Apple application using the visual development tool in the kit. The app had a button!

Hour3: Keynote streaming straight from San Francisco.

- Longest freak’n sponsor opening ever… seriously.

-The audio sucks… can’t understand it. Watch all the feeds here.

-We stopped watching. Great!!!

The keynote over all sucked. Maybe someone there is writing a live blog about what the dudes are saying because we can’t hear. I started to browse Digg, that means its awful.

- This dude blew my mind with this graphic wizardry! This is like a book in 45 minutes… my brain hurts but a great job!

Awesome experience for the first day! Meet great people and learned alot, it was like class but fun and interesting. We’ll see about tomorrow!

For all of you who can’t make it, we are at the iPhoneDevCamp Chicago satellite. We will be making hourly posts of our experience. We have two perspectives, the first is of tskaggs who is a trained coder and wannabe tech entrepreneur; and second is a not-so-trained-actually-not-at-all programmer artnoisenik.

As a guy who knows nothing about code, this shit is going over my head hardcore!  I have no idea what is going on!  Some guy keeps talking about nills and C++.  What!?  I am increibly tired.  I hate waking up before ten.  Man, I can’t stand it.

My brother seems to be really into it.  He just keeps staring at the speaker.  I think he’s faking it and probably zoning out into a deep sleep.  Snorefest 97, dawg!  I wish I was at a clown convention.  That would be not boring!  Not boring at all!

Our noble reviewer today takes a look at the beautifully done How to Plan a Party app.  This app let’s even the dumbest man or woman to plan the perfect party.  Everything from settings to themes.  Oh man!  I hope they have the pirate/furry theme that’s been all the rage!  I’ve been to a couple and they are really lacking.  If only there was a way for the common folk to plan a professional party involving peglegs and wolf costumes?  Oh wait! Thank you gods of the Apples!  Thank you for helping get my freak on!

We are living in the future!

One of the best and most useful iPhone apps hae been developed, but has been removed by Apple!

Nullriver’s Netshare is an app that allows you to make your iPhone into a personal modem. This allows your computer to use the 3G network to access the internet. This is a big kick in the face to AT&T and they need it! The App is simple to configure and, depending if you have 3G access, it will allow you to use the 3G network data service that you are paying out the ass for.

The app was available this morning until about noon, thats when BIG DADDY Apple decided to remove the app. Nullriver had done nothing wrong and followed the developer’s agreement, but I think AT&T’s grasp on Apple’s nuts has made Apple take the app down.

The App is only $9.99 and was available here at the App Store.

Fight the power and let my Nullriver go!

So we get into Chicago just fine.  We ended up driving from Northwest Indiana after missing the train (You can blame my bro).  And the car sitting outside with about thirty minutes left on the parking meter.  I have no idea where we are going to take it.  Oh well.  It’s not my car.

I am currently sitting in a sweet ass conference room where I am the only guy with a PC.  yeah, I know, ridiculous.  But I am just the brother of the guy who runs this site.  He asks me to contribute when I can and I do.  So I am contributing now.  On a PC at a iPhone conference.  I am embarrassed.  Very.

However, they have a great breakfast thing going on.  I love free food!  But so far nothing else is going on.  People are sitting around and talking about god-knows-what.  My brother is moping about the loss of the iPhone Modem App.  Boo-hoo, bro.  Boo-hoo.

Here’s the situation: I am recent grad student who is now in the process of finding a job.  I have a small stash of money in my account and nothing coming in.  Ever.  I have a fear that I may have to move in with my parents very soon.  But I feel like I am better than my roommate and better than my brother. Why?  Well, simply put:

I HAVE THE NEW IPHONE, YOU SACKS OF BEEFSPRAY!  Huh… Now, I know this kind of behavior is uncalled for and the idea that whipping out this phone and continuing to talk as if I am the shit will eventually lead to my complete and utter downfall is ludicrous.  However, I can’t help it.  I have the new 3G iPhone and I can do things that no other man around me can do!  I am a Golden God.

A day in the life of an awesome, awesome man:
I wake up and check my messages and emails.  I forget to look for a job because I’m busy beating the next level of SuperMonkeyBall.  I head down to the bar early, like noon or so.  Got nothing else to do, why not?  I start drinking myself into a stupor, I check my blood alcohol level with the iPhone.  Picking up that lovely lady down the bar who looks like she has a crazy purple dolphin tattoo on her leg (turns out to be a giant bruise), I can whip out my iPhone and if that is not enough to impress her, I’ll just run my wingman, iPickup Lines.  While getting arrested for harassment and disturbing the peace, a quick search and I got a lawyer!

Oh man, in the next few months, how cool and badass am I going to be looking when I stand in the unemployment line with that baby glued to my ear!  I will be the shit among those pathetic, starving helpless individuals!

This is, by far, the best app released so far! I waited an extra week before I made that claim because I wanted to see what else was out there. I can agree with every fanboy, blog writer, and who ever else agrees with me, that Twitterrific is not much different from the OS X app. I fell in love with this app when I heard Kevin Rose and other “Internet Gods” speaking of the app. This is one of the apps that has not crashed on me and I appreciate it!

Twitterrific is prefect for the Twitter-aholic, much like Sarah Lane, to check on tweets and make tweets. It’s visually appealing and simple to work with. There is an added feature to use the GPS to locate you and your Tweets, but I’m still iffy on that feature.
